As an Analog/Mixed Signal Architect at Lightmatter, you will lead the development of innovative analog and mixed-signal solutions for the company's next-generation optical-engine products. This role involves spearheading pathfinding efforts and working on early prototypes, collaborating closely with engineering teams to transition designs into high-volume production. Lightmatter is at the forefront of AI data center infrastructure, having developed the world's first 3D-stacked photonics engine, Passage™, which connects thousands to millions of processors at the speed of light in extreme-scale data centers.

In this position, your key responsibilities will include architecting high-speed electro-optical interfaces for co-packaged optics solutions, designing high-speed DACs, linear drivers, and TIAs in the latest FinFET process nodes, and collaborating across disciplines to specify requirements and solutions for circuit blocks and SoCs. Additionally, you will work with product teams to develop technological roadmaps, validate hardware against simulation predictions to ensure high performance and yield, and represent the company at technical conferences.

The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience designing high-speed analog circuits in TSMC N3/N5/N7 process nodes. Hands-on experience in high-speed SERDES design in advanced process nodes (7nm and below) is essential. A deep technical background with a proven track record of innovation, strong understanding of layout impacts on SERDES performance, and familiarity with UCIe, PAM4, and other high-speed SerDes are also required. Proficiency in circuit and electromagnetic simulation tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Verilog-A, and EMX is necessary.

Compensation for this role includes a base salary ranging from $200,000 to $280,000 USD, determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data. Total compensation also encompasses a new hire equity grant, annual performance-based equity, and other rewards recognizing your impact and contribution. Benefits include comprehensive health care plans, retirement savings matching programs, life insurance, generous time off, paid family leave, disability coverage, training and development opportunities, commuter benefits, a flexible hybrid workplace model, and equity grants for full-time employees.

Lightmatter fosters a collaborative and innovative company culture, where each individual's contributions directly influence the success of the company and its products. Employees have the opportunity to build new computing technologies from the ground up and tackle groundbreaking challenges. The company values technical excellence and prioritizes great ideas, providing a dynamic environment for professional growth and development.
