The Principal Product Engineer role at Lightmatter is central to the company's mission of revolutionizing AI data center infrastructure. This position offers end-to-end ownership, allowing the engineer to define the product engineering landscape and drive the strategic direction for Lightmatter's hardware portfolio. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including design, foundry, packaging, test, validation, and reliability, to optimize manufacturing processes, improve yield and quality, and reduce costs.

Key responsibilities include managing yield and quality indicators from initial silicon to high-volume manufacturing, defining manufacturing and test strategies such as Design for Test (DFT) implementation and test program creation, and driving continuous improvement in quality, yield, and cost. The engineer will also lead multi-disciplinary teams to resolve product issues and enhance team tools and methods.

Candidates should possess a Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry as a product engineer, totaling at least 12 years of relevant industry experience. Experience in developing DFT strategies, test plans, and familiarity with advanced packaging flows and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) are essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to influence senior leadership and collaborate with vendors and customers are also required.

Lightmatter offers a competitive compensation package, with a base salary range of $226,000 to $262,000 USD, determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data.
