Lead Package Assembly Integrator
Lightmatter is seeking a Lead Package Assembly Integrator to join our Packaging Technology team. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the development of cutting-edge packaging technologies that drive our AI architectures, setting new industry benchmarks for computational power, performance, and efficiency. As a leader in photonic computing, Lightmatter is revolutionizing AI data center infrastructure with our groundbreaking Passage™ platform, the world's first 3D-stacked photonics engine.
As the Lead Package Assembly Integrator, you will be responsible for developing and executing end-to-end 3D package assembly, test, and fiber-attach processes for Lightmatter products. This includes collaborating closely with design teams, silicon and photonics foundries, and OSAT partners to ensure robust, high-yielding assembly processes that meet performance and reliability goals. You will define test chip requirements, manage test chip design, and plan and execute design of experiments to gain insights into assembly process and design interactions.
The ideal candidate will possess an MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a related engineering field, along with 10-12 years of experience in wafer-scale packaging assembly process development. A deep understanding of 2D/3D packaging technologies, materials, and equipment requirements is essential. Proficiency in defining requirements for test chips and assembly test vehicles, as well as knowledge of photonics packaging requirements, including various fiber attach methods, is highly desirable.
We offer a competitive compensation package, with a base salary range of $245,000 to $321,000 USD, determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data. Total compensation extends beyond base salary and includes a new hire equity grant, annual performance-based equity, and other rewards recognizing your impact and contribution.
