Lightmatter is at the forefront of revolutionizing AI data center infrastructure with its innovative 3D-stacked photonics engine, Passage™, designed to connect processors at the speed of light for advanced AI and HPC workloads. The company has recently secured $400 million in Series D funding, elevating its valuation to $4.4 billion. As a Senior Digital (Mixed Signal) Architect, you will play a pivotal role in defining the digital architecture that integrates complex analog, mixed-signal, and photonic circuits, contributing to the development of groundbreaking photonic-based communication fabrics.

In this role, you will be responsible for architecting system-level digital designs that encompass stabilization circuits for analog and photonic devices, line-rate digital signal processing, forward error correction, cyclic redundancy checks, and tuning and adaptation of analog front-end components. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including digital, analog, photonic, and software engineers, to ensure seamless integration and functionality. Your duties will also involve authoring and reviewing architectural specifications, producing customer-facing product datasheets and reference designs, and identifying potential improvements and mitigation strategies for proposed architectures.

The ideal candidate will possess over 12 years of experience and a Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. A deep understanding of power-efficient digital design flows for high-speed analog/mixed-signal electronics, particularly in photonic communication channels, is essential. Proficiency in digital circuit design within high-speed analog/photonic links, including device bring-up, control, and digital signal processing, is required. Strong problem-solving skills, especially for complex issues without obvious solutions, and excellent customer communication abilities are also critical for success in this role.
