Assembly Technician - Engines (Andromeda)
Stoke Space is seeking an Assembly Technician to join the Andromeda Engine program in Kent, Washington. This role involves the precise and rapid assembly of rocket engine hardware, contributing to the development of reusable launch vehicles designed for daily flight. The Andromeda Engine is a unique LH2/LOX bleed-expander cycle engine integral to the Nova launch vehicle.
As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling complex engine components based on work orders, drawings, CAD models, and verbal instructions. Your duties will include build planning, organizing inventory kits, identifying shortages, and ordering common stock items. You will also perform precision cleaning of hardware, maintain an efficient work area, and document build steps for both new and recurring assembly sequences.
Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in mechanical or manufacturing environments, with a minimum of 2 years in precision assembly of complex engine systems or similar hardware. A detailed understanding of fittings, threads, inserts, seals, and other sub-component parts is essential. Experience with oxygen, cryogenic, and FOD-intolerant service components and systems is preferred. The role requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted, stand for extended periods, and work in tight spaces.
Compensation for this position includes equity in the form of stock options, subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer match, 4 weeks of paid time off, 10 holidays (including an end-of-year closure), paid family/parental leave, and an on-site gym or monthly wellness stipend. The salary range for this role is $32.11 to $60.17 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.
