Assistant City Solicitor or Deputy City Solicitor – Regulatory Law Unit – Airport Division
The City of Philadelphia's Law Department is seeking a licensed Pennsylvania attorney to join its Regulatory Law Unit's Airport Division as an Assistant or Deputy City Solicitor. This role involves providing legal counsel to the Department of Aviation, which oversees the operation and development of Philadelphia International Airport and Northeast Philadelphia Airport. The position is based at the Philadelphia International Airport.
The attorney will be responsible for negotiating and drafting a variety of contracts, including leases, licenses, grant agreements, professional service contracts, development agreements, and concession agreements. Additionally, the role involves advising airport staff on legal and regulatory matters related to public safety, national security, commercial development, land use, environmental concerns, and other operational issues.
Candidates for the Assistant City Solicitor position should have at least one year of relevant legal experience, while those applying for the Deputy City Solicitor role must possess a minimum of four years of pertinent experience. A law degree from an ABA-accredited institution and membership in good standing with the Pennsylvania Bar, or eligibility for admission by reciprocity, are required.
The City of Philadelphia offers a competitive salary range for this position, with Assistant City Solicitors earning between $81,500 and $91,928 annually, and Deputy City Solicitors earning between $94,465 and $113,614, commensurate with education and experience.
