Associate Attorney - Litigation

The Associate Attorney - Litigation role at Cogent Talent Solutions involves managing civil litigation matters within established legal, procedural, and financial frameworks. The position is based in Fort Worth, Texas, and requires on-site presence. The attorney will work closely with a team dedicated to delivering consistent and defensible legal outcomes, contributing to the firm's revenue generation.

Key responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses; conducting legal research aligned with case requirements; preparing case summaries and recommendations; ensuring all filings meet court requirements and deadlines; and maintaining accuracy and completeness of legal documents. The role also involves strict control over case deadlines and procedural requirements to prevent legal exposure, as well as consistent generation and conversion of work into billed output aligned with firm production expectations.

The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school, an active license to practice law in Texas, and a minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience. Demonstrated experience with drafting motions and discovery, conducting depositions (taking and/or defending), and making court appearances is essential.

Compensation for this position ranges from $120,000 to $170,000 annually, plus bonus and health benefits. The firm may utilize artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist the recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
