Associate Counsel

Financial Technology Partners is seeking an Associate Counsel to join its dynamic legal team in New York City. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this role offers the opportunity to engage with various aspects of the firm's legal operations, including client engagement letters, employment matters, vendor contracts, corporate policies, and the development of legal AI tools. The firm specializes in investment banking services within the FinTech sector, providing a fast-paced and deal-driven environment.

The Associate Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and revising investment banking engagement letters and related agreements. Additionally, the role involves handling employment agreements, offer letters, and other employment-related documents. The Associate Counsel will also manage commercial agreements such as NDAs, SaaS and software licensing agreements, service agreements, consulting agreements, and other vendor contracts. A key aspect of the position includes building and maintaining contract playbooks and integrating them into the firm's legal AI workflows, as well as improving standard agreement templates and corporate policies.

Candidates should possess at least 2 years of relevant legal experience, preferably from a major national law firm, with exceptional drafting, analytical, and editing skills. Demonstrated fluency with legal AI tools and a track record of integrating AI into document workflows are essential. Admission to the bar in good standing is required. A strong work ethic and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment are also important.
