Associate Director, External Manufacturing and Supply
The Associate Director, External Manufacturing and Supply Operations at Cytokinetics is responsible for overseeing the operational execution of external manufacturing and related supply activities. This pivotal role within the Manufacturing and External Supply Operations team requires managing multiple activities simultaneously, balancing priorities with a strong sense of urgency, and collaborating with various departments to deliver global supply plans for both clinical and commercial products.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining productive relationships with external contract manufacturers and internal global colleagues, ensuring timely execution of manufacturing and supply plans, and developing production processes to support operational execution. The role also involves supporting logistics, transportation, and import/export activities, as well as acting as the manufacturing and supply chain representative for reviewing and approving documentation such as batch records, specifications, and change controls.
The ideal candidate will possess a BS/BA degree in Life Science, Biology, or Engineering, along with over 10 years of combined experience in manufacturing, outsourced operations, technical operations, and/or supply chain within the regulated healthcare industry, preferably in biotech or pharmaceuticals. Essential qualifications include firsthand cGMP experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant, technical knowledge of engineering and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes in small molecules, excellent problem-solving skills, and demonstrated expertise in risk management. The ability to function in a fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% are also required.
