Payroll Manager (Contractor)

Cytokinetics is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team in Zug, Switzerland. This role is integral to our growing organization, focusing on overseeing payroll operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The position is a fixed-term contract until the end of the year, with the possibility of extension, and follows a hybrid working model with three days per week in our Zug office.

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing full-cycle payroll processing for EU entities, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments in compliance with local labor and tax regulations. Key duties include overseeing payroll-related balance sheet accounts, managing paid time off and leave accrual calculations, coordinating payroll treatment of stock-based compensation, and ensuring timely submission of payroll tax filings and statutory reports. Additionally, the role involves maintaining and strengthening payroll-related internal controls and supporting SOX documentation and testing.

Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in end-to-end payroll management, with strong expertise in multi-country compliance, tax regulations, statutory reporting, and benefits administration. Proven ability to implement and optimize payroll systems and processes is essential. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring team members and building trusted cross-functional relationships. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in relevant regional languages, such as French, is strongly preferred.
