Backend Software Engineer
Catawiki is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Lisbon, Portugal. As a key member of our engineering department, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of our online auction platform, which connects buyers and sellers of unique and special objects. This role offers an opportunity to work in a hybrid model, combining both in-office and remote work.
In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend services that power our customer-facing products. Your day-to-day tasks will include defining and implementing APIs within a microservice architecture, ensuring high performance and scalability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to deliver seamless user experiences.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of experience in software development, with a strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming. At least two years of recent experience working on customer-facing products, such as e-commerce or SaaS platforms, is required. Proficiency in defining and implementing APIs within a microservice architecture is essential. While experience with the Ruby stack is preferred, we welcome candidates who are open to working with this technology.
