Closing Paralegal
The Closing Paralegal at Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) plays a pivotal role in managing post-closing requirements for core fund loans and overseeing the closing of special loan fund loans. Reporting directly to the Vice President, General Counsel, this position is integral to ensuring that NFF's lending activities are executed with precision, compliance, and care, thereby enabling the organization to deploy capital responsibly and effectively. NFF is a remote-first organization with offices in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Oakland, and Los Angeles, and this role is based remotely within the United States, with a strong preference for candidates within commutable distance to NFF’s New York City office.
In this role, the Closing Paralegal is responsible for drafting amendments, waiver letters, and other loan documents as needed. They organize and track closing documentation for loan transactions, assist with pre-closing and closing activities, collect signature pages, prepare wire transfer requests, and handle UCC filings, including continuation and termination statements. Additional duties include performing lien and litigation searches, corporate entity searches, and managing collateral release documents. Post-closing, the paralegal schedules meetings with various departments, tracks and follows up on required documents, monitors UCC and mortgage filings, and maintains the post-closing checklist. Administrative support includes managing projects in Asana, maintaining client files, uploading files to corporate cloud systems and Salesforce, and coordinating department meetings and mailings.
Candidates for this position should possess a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach. Experience in legal and lending processes, particularly in a nonprofit or financial setting, is highly desirable. The role requires a commitment to advancing NFF’s mission through careful, compliant execution of legal and lending processes. A strong preference is given to candidates within commutable distance to NFF’s New York City office.
The salary range for this position is $99,500 to $110,600 annually. NFF offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and generous paid time off.
