Cloud Engineering Manager
Canonical is seeking a Cloud Engineering Manager to lead the BootStack team, which designs, builds, and operates modern distributed systems on private infrastructure for customers. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced engineering environment, contributing to the success of Ubuntu and open-source products.
The Cloud Engineering Manager will oversee a growing engineering team, optimizing the quality and velocity of both development and operations. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day managed services of customer environments, implementing disciplined engineering and operations processes, and ensuring the team focuses on priorities, milestones, and deliverables. Collaboration with customers, product engineering, and operations is critical to success.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a technology field, proven experience in software delivery using languages such as Python, Go, C, C++, or Java, and experience managing operations teams. A strong commitment to testing methodologies, maintainable code quality, and experience with OpenStack and Linux system administration (Ubuntu/Debian preferred) are essential. Excellent communication skills, experience with agile software development methodologies, and the ability to work in and manage distributed teams are also required.
