Commercial Counsel
Wiz is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join its expanding U.S. legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, providing legal support to a rapidly growing cloud security company. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various teams to facilitate business growth while ensuring legal compliance.
The Commercial Counsel will serve as a legal business partner to Wiz’s revenue teams, effectively communicating legal concepts and risks to business stakeholders. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide range of legal agreements, such as SaaS contracts, professional services agreements, partner agreements, and NDAs. The role also involves understanding customer positions, addressing issues from their perspective, prioritizing a heavy workflow, and supporting the continuous improvement of agreement templates and legal processes.
Candidates should have at least 6 years of in-house legal experience, preferably within a technology company, though law firm experience combined with in-house experience will also be considered. A strong understanding of data privacy is essential, particularly in handling data processing agreements. Applicants must be admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in at least one U.S. state. The role requires a business-friendly approach, strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and experience with tools like Salesforce, Slack, DocuSign, and contract lifecycle management systems.
