Commercial Legal
As the founding commercial attorney at fal, you will be instrumental in shaping the company's legal framework as it scales globally. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will lead the commercial legal function, working closely with the go-to-market team to facilitate enterprise sales, partnerships, and infrastructure agreements. This role offers significant ownership and the opportunity to build legal processes from the ground up in a rapidly growing AI company.
Your primary responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, such as enterprise customer contracts, SaaS and API licensing, data center and capacity arrangements, and partnership agreements. You will also develop and implement templates, playbooks, and contract management solutions to streamline legal operations. Additionally, you will monitor relevant regulatory developments and provide practical guidance to ensure compliance across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess a J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar, with 8+ years of relevant legal experience. A combination of top-tier law firm training and in-house experience at a technology, cloud infrastructure, SaaS, or AI company is preferred. Strong expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology transactions, along with a solid understanding of enterprise software licensing, intellectual property, and data protection laws, is essential.
Fal offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $200,000 to $250,000, equity options, and a comprehensive benefits package.
