Consulting Engineer
As a Consulting Engineer at Neo4j, you will collaborate closely with enterprise clients to implement graph-powered solutions, guiding projects from inception to deployment. Your role involves designing graph data models and delivering successful Neo4j implementations, acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the consulting engagement. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with Neo4j technology, assisting clients in adopting best practices for graph data modeling, application development, and modern AI-powered data architectures.
In this role, your key responsibilities include leading and contributing to Neo4j implementations across the full project lifecycle, from initial design through to production roll-out. You will act as the technical subject matter expert on consulting engagements, providing hands-on guidance and technical leadership for succeeding with Neo4j technology. Additionally, you will design and implement graph data models that represent complex relationships and support high-performance querying and analytics. Architecting and building solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements using Neo4j, and supporting modern data and AI architectures by structuring graph data to enable advanced analytics, search, and emerging AI patterns such as RAG, are also key aspects of this role.
To qualify for this position, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus). A minimum of 3 years of experience designing and developing enterprise-class applications, with a focus on data-driven or analytics-focused systems, is required. Strong experience in data modeling and designing data structures for complex applications, with familiarity across relational, NoSQL, or graph databases, is essential. Experience designing scalable software architectures and working within modern application development environments, as well as practical experience in data engineering and structuring and optimizing data for modern search, analytics, or AI-driven applications, are also important. Competence and hands-on experience in at least one of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, or C#, and experience deploying applications on modern platforms such as Linux, Docker, or Kubernetes, are necessary. Familiarity with source control and development workflows using tools such as Git, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team are also required.
