Corporate Counsel, Commercial
As Axon's Corporate Counsel, you will be an integral member of the contracts and corporate team, supporting global sales operations. This role involves close collaboration with departments such as Sales, Supply Chain, Software and Hardware Engineering, Product, and IT to structure and negotiate complex transactions, contributing to the company's rapid growth in public safety technology solutions.
Key responsibilities include providing legal advice on transactional matters related to Axon's diverse portfolio of products and services. This encompasses structuring, reviewing, and negotiating contracts for goods, services, and SaaS solutions, as well as offering strategic options and risk analyses to business partners. Additionally, you will supervise and review the work of Contracts Managers, establish and enforce acceptable risk levels, and lead the development and implementation of contract lifecycle management systems.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of experience, preferably in-house, in negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts. Essential qualifications include a Juris Doctor degree, active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar, and proficiency in drafting and negotiating a high volume of contracts related to SaaS, hardware, and services. Experience with intellectual property agreements, international contracts, and a strong understanding of tools like Generative AI, Salesforce, CLMs, and Microsoft Office are also highly valued.
