Cost Planner / Estimator
BESIX Watpac, a leading Australian multi-disciplinary construction company and a subsidiary of the international BESIX Group, is seeking a Cost Planner/Estimator to join their Queensland, Northern Territory, and New Zealand Estimating team. This role involves preparing and compiling tenders and cost plans for various project tenders and delivery phases.
The primary responsibilities include compiling and preparing tenders and cost plans based on various forms of delivery and contracts, assisting with negotiating tenders and contract terms to ensure favorable outcomes, and preparing detailed cost plans for head contract variations. Additionally, the role involves identifying risks associated with head contract tender documents, reviewing tender documents to allocate appropriate trade packages for pricing, preparing building quantities in line with industry practices, and collating cost data from industry suppliers, subcontractors, and completed projects.
Candidates should possess a degree in a relevant discipline and have experience in cost planning or estimating for large building projects within a principal contractor or consultant environment. A clear understanding of industry construction techniques, proficiency in industry software, and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels are essential. The role also requires demonstrated ability to manage workload and meet deadlines, as well as operate autonomously using initiative and sound decision-making skills.
