As the Data Protection Officer (DPO) at ContiTech Thermopol Romania S.R.L., you will be the formally appointed DPO in accordance with GDPR Articles 37–39 and Romanian Law No. 190/2018. You will act as the central contact point for the Romanian supervisory authority (ANSPDCP), data subjects, and internal stakeholders on all matters relating to the processing and protection of personal data. Additionally, you will serve as the Compliance Coordinator, liaising with the central Commercial and Data Compliance function of ContiTech to ensure regulatory compliance and effective corporate governance.

Your key responsibilities will include informing and advising the controller and its employees on their obligations under GDPR, Romanian Law No. 190/2018, and Binding Corporate Rules. You will monitor compliance with applicable data protection legislation and internal policies, serve as the primary contact point for ANSPDCP, coordinate and advise on data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), maintain and update the Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), manage data subject requests, lead responses to data protection incidents and breaches, support audits and compliance reviews, coordinate the rollout of corporate compliance policies, deliver data protection training, prepare compliance reports, and advise on data protection-compliant implementation of business transactions and projects.

To be successful in this role, you should have an academic degree in law with demonstrated expertise in data protection law. A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a compliance, legal, audit, or data protection function, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience applying the GDPR, is required. Sound knowledge of Romanian data protection legislation, experience in conducting or coordinating DPIAs, managing RoPA, and handling data subject requests are essential. Familiarity with data protection management systems, IT security principles, and information governance frameworks is desirable. Business fluent Romanian and English language skills are required; knowledge of German is an advantage. Strong communication and organizational skills, a proactive and structured working style, and the ability to work independently are also important.
