Database Architect

Rush Street Interactive (RSI) is seeking a Database Architect to enhance and expand the company's database capabilities through guidance, collaboration, and the development of shared standards. This role involves working closely with DBAs, engineers, and analytics teams to foster sound architectural practices and support informed decision-making across both relational and non-relational database technologies.

The Database Architect will be responsible for developing and disseminating database architecture patterns and best practices, assisting teams in selecting appropriate database technologies based on specific use cases, and leading efforts to define data contracts for in-house products. Additionally, the role includes creating decision frameworks and reference materials to enable teams to design compliant and scalable database solutions independently.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with over five years of experience in database design, data modeling, or database engineering. A strong foundation in relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL and Oracle, is essential, as well as familiarity with non-relational database technologies such as document stores, key-value stores, and graph databases. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required to effectively mentor and collaborate with various teams.
