Design Engineer
The Design Engineer at Midi Health operates at the intersection of product design and frontend engineering, translating design concepts into code-first prototypes. This role focuses on implementing the design system, building reusable components, and ensuring high-quality, consistent user interfaces across the product. The Design Engineer will also own the setup and evolution of AI-enabled design workflows, connecting design tools with code tools to accelerate prototyping and implementation.
Key responsibilities include translating product requirements into code-first prototypes, ensuring visual and interaction fidelity across systems, implementing and maintaining reusable UI components, and supporting the rollout of the design system across the product. The role also involves setting up and maintaining integration between design and code tools, establishing workflows between design and frontend codebase, and ensuring design components map cleanly to production components. Additionally, the Design Engineer will set up and manage AI workflows to enable code-first prototyping from design inputs and support the team in using AI to generate and iterate on UI.
The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of experience in frontend development, product design, or a hybrid role, with strong UI/visual design fundamentals. Experience with modern frontend frameworks, particularly React, and familiarity with design systems and component-based development are essential. An interest in AI-assisted design and development workflows and comfort working cross-functionally are also important.
Midi Health offers a competitive salary range of $135,000 to $175,000 per year, based on experience and skills. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a wide range of benefits and equity in the company.
