Diagnostics Hematology Specialist (North Central)
The Diagnostics Hematology Specialist at Adaptive Biotechnologies is a pivotal role within the sales team, focusing on driving the adoption of the company's diagnostic products in the North Central region, including key areas such as Minneapolis, Des Moines, and Sioux Falls. Adaptive Biotechnologies is dedicated to harnessing the power of the adaptive immune system to transform disease diagnosis and treatment.
In this position, the specialist is responsible for demonstrating clinical and product expertise, delivering strategic customer education to ensure appropriate patient identification and utilization of Adaptive's diagnostic tools. The role involves working cross-functionally with internal partners to develop and implement robust business plans, managing territory accounts by building relationships with physicians, allied healthcare professionals, and business stakeholders, and promoting Adaptive's diagnostic products through targeted physician engagements. Additionally, the specialist develops and implements territory business plans to meet customer needs and achieve sales goals, identifies customer changes to ensure appropriate resource allocation, performs administrative functions such as reporting call activity and customer information, assists in identifying and resolving issues, and trains physician support staff on the proper use and handling of Adaptive's diagnostic products.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related experience in pharmaceutical, diagnostic, or medical device sales, with a minimum of three years in hematology, oncology, biotech, life sciences, or diagnostic sales. A strong technical background in molecular biology, genomics, next-generation sequencing, or immunology is advantageous. The role requires a self-starting, independent work style, dedication to customer service, results orientation with a strategic focus on sales, ability to measure and analyze key performance indicators, well-developed professional and strategic selling skills, excellent listening, time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communicate the application of technology to a wide range of research specialties, demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, and experience using Salesforce or similar CRM databases to manage territory business.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $210,000, along with additional compensation elements such as equity grants, incentive compensation, and transportation reimbursement. As a field-based role, travel requirements may exceed 60%.
