Digital Court Reporter - Contractor

eScribers is seeking experienced digital court reporters to join our team as independent contractors. Established in 2005, eScribers has become a leader in providing reporting and transcription services for courts and government agencies across the US, UK, and Ireland. As a digital court reporter, you will be responsible for attending and recording court proceedings, ensuring accurate and timely transcription of legal events. This role offers flexible scheduling, with opportunities for both in-person assignments in Arlington, Poughkeepsie, and surrounding areas, as well as remote work. Additionally, qualified candidates may have the opportunity to take on transcription work based on relevant experience.

Candidates must have successfully completed a training program or possess previous reporting experience. Essential requirements include owning reporting equipment prior to onboarding, legal eligibility to work in the United States, and a high degree of professionalism. Proficiency in basic computer functions, a reliable mode of transportation, and a high-speed internet connection are also necessary.

As an independent contractor, compensation is provided on a per-project basis and includes a daily appearance fee, reimbursement for necessary travel expenses, commissions on copy sales, and exhibit handling. Payments are made weekly via direct deposit. An onboarding process will be required, involving completion of necessary paperwork, computer setup, and familiarization with our programs and workflow systems.
