The Director, Content Producer at Columbia Records is responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and executing original content to support both major and developing artists. This role involves shooting or overseeing the production of social-first native content, including performances and narrative pieces, and managing the editing process to ensure the delivery of high-performing social content. Additionally, the Director will create and maintain a roster of short-form production crews, videographers, photographers, and editors for external content production. Collaborating with Digital and Marketing teams, the Director will develop unique short-form content strategies tailored to specific artists and projects, considering factors such as artist profile, fanbases, niches, and genres to build their social narrative and drive music consumption. Staying informed about high-performing and trending content formats across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter is essential. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in content creation, including both photo and video production, with proven expertise in shooting, producing, and editing high-performing vertical content, particularly using a phone. Proficiency in Final Cut Pro Studio and the Adobe Production Bundle, including After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator, is required. A comprehensive understanding of the film and production process, including operating professional video cameras, lighting systems, audio recording, and post-production, is also necessary. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and ensure high-quality output are essential. The ability to work effectively under pressure, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail, is crucial. A deep passion for Hip Hop and Pop Culture, with the ability to infuse this passion into content development and drive cultural relevance, is highly valued. The anticipated annual base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $130,000 USD. The actual base salary offered depends on various factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
