Director, Employment Counsel

The Director, Employment Counsel at HelloFresh will serve as the primary legal advisor on employment-related matters, collaborating closely with senior management and the People team. This role is integral to ensuring compliance with labor laws and fostering a positive workplace environment within a rapidly growing global food solutions company.

Key responsibilities include providing counsel on various employment issues such as hiring practices, workplace conduct, wage and hour compliance, benefits, and employee separations. The Director will also oversee the development and implementation of HR-related training programs, draft and negotiate employment agreements, and manage litigation and defense strategies related to labor and employment matters.

Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with outstanding academic credentials and a minimum of five years of labor and employment law experience, including at least two years of relevant litigation experience at a leading law firm. Admission to the bar in at least one of the following states is required: Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, or Texas. Experience in-house at a high-growth, consumer-facing, or e-commerce company is considered a strong plus.
