Director Media Strategy Amazon (Mensch)
As the Director of Media Strategy for Amazon at WPP Media, you will lead the strategic direction for one of our major international clients across 12 European markets. This role involves driving data-driven decision-making at the highest level, ensuring that media strategies are effectively tailored and implemented to meet client objectives.
Your primary responsibilities will include developing and allocating annual budgets across the 12 markets, creating comprehensive cross-channel media strategy frameworks, and producing detailed strategy documents adhering to Amazon's standards. You will systematically consolidate fragmented data from various studies and performance analyses to derive coherent strategic insights, supporting evidence-based decision-making. Additionally, you will promote the use of AI tools to streamline research and synthesis processes, define sustainable workflows to reduce manual tasks, and lead a team of four strategists, ensuring the quality of their outputs. Continuous identification of process bottlenecks and development of scalable frameworks for recurring decisions will also be key aspects of your role.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong affinity for numbers and precision in handling complex, multi-tiered calculations. You should have the ability to translate media KPIs, target audience analyses, and market-media studies into clear media recommendations, documented in structured and persuasive English. Deep knowledge in multi-source data analysis is essential, enabling you to critically assess analyses for logic and strategic relevance, including AI-generated outputs. A pragmatic, solution-oriented approach to AI will allow you to critically evaluate and optimize your own workflows through AI-supported processes. Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively interface between international teams, along with clear prioritization abilities. Proven leadership skills are required to guide and develop your team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
