Director of Communications (Contract)
Semafor is seeking a Director of Communications to join its dynamic and rapidly growing team. The Director of Communications will manage workflows, maintain internal systems, and ensure the smooth execution of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include developing publicity strategies across editorial verticals, crafting press releases, conducting research, and creating comprehensive communications campaigns. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with global media partners, tracking regional press coverage, and tailoring messaging for diverse international audiences.
Candidates should possess 3–5 years of experience in communications, press, or media relations. Exceptional writing skills with a strong command of voice, clarity, and accuracy are essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, a natural affinity for organizational systems, and a proactive, creative problem-solving attitude. Enthusiasm for media, journalism, and the evolving global news landscape is highly valued.
The base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience. Semafor offers a Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO) policy for full-time, salaried employees, allowing for paid time off as needed without a prescribed limit or defined balance.
