Director of Data Analytics
The Director of Data Analytics will lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and data analytics strategy for the wealth management business at Focus Financial Partners. This role involves transforming client, advisor, operational, and financial data into actionable insights to enhance growth, advisor productivity, and overall business performance. The Director will collaborate closely with teams across advisory, investment, operations, technology, compliance, and finance to build scalable reporting frameworks and strengthen data governance, fostering a more data-driven organization.
Key responsibilities include developing a high-performing finance data analytics team responsible for dashboards, KPI reporting, ad hoc analysis, business intelligence, and advanced analytics. The Director will partner across all business disciplines to improve data quality, establish common definitions, and enable trusted analytics across CRM, portfolio reporting systems, and billing systems. Additionally, the role involves delivering meaningful reporting on client trends, segmentation, productivity, profitability, and retention metrics, as well as identifying and implementing opportunities to use predictive analytics and AI to improve process automation.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, finance, computer science, or a related quantitative field, along with 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in data analytics within large and complex environments. Proficiency in SQL, Python or R, and BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI is essential. Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills are required, with the ability to explain complex analyses to non-technical audiences. Experience in financial services and familiarity with cloud data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, or Azure Synapse are also important.
This position offers a competitive annual base salary ranging from $160,000 to $200,000, with actual compensation varying based on factors such as experience, subject matter expertise, and geographic location. The total compensation package includes an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, encompassing medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
