Ceribell, Inc. is a medical technology company dedicated to transforming the diagnosis and management of patients with serious neurological conditions. The Ceribell System is a novel, point-of-care electroencephalography (EEG) platform designed to address unmet needs in acute care settings. The company is seeking a highly technical Director of Systems Engineering to lead the development of next-generation products and provide ongoing systems engineering leadership for current core products.

The Director of Systems Engineering will manage and grow the Electrical, Systems, and Embedded Software engineering teams. Responsibilities include owning the system-level architecture of core and next-generation products, driving requirements generation and traceability across hardware and software disciplines, and ensuring designs are reliable, scalable, and manufacturable. The role also involves guiding the software development strategy, overseeing both embedded and OS-level configurations, and managing external contractors for board support packages. Additionally, the director will lead the electrical engineering team through the full hardware lifecycle and act as the technical bridge between various departments to deliver cohesive medical devices.

Candidates should possess an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with a PhD highly preferred. A minimum of 10 years of experience in systems, hardware, and embedded development, including at least 3 years in a management or director-level role, is required. Strong background in systems engineering principles, deep technical expertise in Embedded Linux environments, and hands-on experience with production-level board design are essential. Experience with time series signal analysis and digital signal processing, particularly in EEG data analysis, is highly preferred. MedTech experience, especially with complex devices integrating mechanical, electrical, software, and AI components, is also highly desirable.

The compensation range for this position is $216,000 to $283,000 annually, with the final offer based on skills, education, work location, and experience. Additional compensation may include performance-based incentives and equity opportunities.
