Mechanical Engineer (Temporary/Contract)
Ceribell, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Research and Development team on a temporary contract basis. This role focuses on supporting the design and development of our innovative medical devices aimed at transforming the diagnosis and management of serious neurological conditions. The position is based in Sunnyvale, California, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring 3-5 days per week on-site.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing mechanical parts and subassemblies that meet user, functional, and regulatory requirements. Key duties include collaborating with internal R&D team members to ensure successful product design and manufacturing, working with external suppliers to develop custom parts, participating in risk management activities, and conducting reliability testing such as drop, ingress, thermal, and cycle tests. Additionally, the role involves producing comprehensive documentation, including engineering drawings, bills of materials, tolerance analyses, and design reviews, as well as assisting with assembly optimization and fixture design.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Science or Engineering, with experience in medical device research and/or development. A minimum of 3 years of experience with mechanical design and CAD tools is required, along with at least 2 years of experience in manufacturing and assembly process development. Strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal communication, and a team-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role.
This contract position is for a term of 6-9 months. Compensation is competitive, with an hourly rate ranging from $43.50 to $49.00, based on skills, education, work location, and experience. As a temporary position employed through an Employer of Record (EOR), this role is eligible for benefits provided by the EOR and is not eligible for the standard Ceribell corporate benefits package.
