Director, Workplace Experience
Metropolis is seeking a Director of Workplace Experience to oversee its corporate real estate portfolio, facilities, and employee experience. This role is integral to the People team and involves close collaboration with Legal and Finance departments to enhance operational efficiency and manage costs. The Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's physical work environment and fostering a positive culture.
Key responsibilities include managing facility services across multiple corporate and regional offices, including locations in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Nashville, Seattle, and Orlando. The Director will lead integration efforts for offices in shared markets, drive operational excellence with vendor partners and internal teams, and spearhead initiatives that align with company values, such as organizing events and enhancing employee perks. Additionally, the role involves tracking office utilization to inform growth strategies, overseeing office expansion projects, implementing office policies, managing budgets, and ensuring consistent employee experiences across all offices.
The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in workplace experience, facilities management, real estate, or related fields. Experience in high-growth technology companies with distributed workforces is essential, along with project management skills, particularly in office construction. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with project management tools like Asana, ProCore, and Smartsheets are required. Strong attention to detail, budget management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are also important. Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance workflows is a plus.
The anticipated base salary for this position ranges from $175,000 to $185,000 annually. Metropolis offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a stock option plan, and bonus plans.
