Director, Workplace Experience
Metropolis is seeking a Director of Workplace Experience to oversee its corporate real estate portfolio, facilities, and employee experience. This role is integral to the People team and involves close collaboration with Legal and Finance departments to enhance operational efficiency and manage costs. The Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's culture and ensuring a consistent and engaging workplace environment across all locations.
Key responsibilities include managing facility services for corporate and regional offices in cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Nashville, Seattle, and Orlando. The Director will lead integration efforts for offices in shared markets, drive operational excellence with vendor partners and internal teams like IT and Security, and spearhead initiatives that align with company values, including employee events and office perks. Additionally, the role involves tracking office utilization to anticipate growth needs, overseeing office expansion projects, implementing office policies, managing the department's budget, and ensuring a consistent employee experience across all major offices.
The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in workplace experience, facilities management, real estate, or related fields, preferably within high-growth technology companies with distributed workforces. Proficiency in project management, particularly in office construction, and strong skills in contract management and negotiation are essential. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with project management tools like Asana, ProCore, and Smartsheets are required. The candidate should demonstrate a proven track record in delivering projects on time and within budget, possess strong budget management skills, and be adept at cross-functional collaboration and executive-level communication.
Metropolis offers a competitive base salary ranging from $175,000 to $185,000 annually. The comprehensive compensation package includes healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, and bonus plans.
