Senior Director, Assistant Controller
Metropolis is seeking a Senior Director, Assistant Controller to lead corporate accounting operations. This role involves establishing core accounting processes, overseeing financial close activities, and implementing the Controller's strategic vision. The Assistant Controller will play a pivotal role in transforming strategic objectives into scalable, efficient processes within a dynamic, technology-driven environment.
Key responsibilities include managing monthly and quarterly close activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness, designing and implementing new policies and controls in accordance with GAAP and IFRS standards, and driving the adoption of automation and AI technologies in reconciliations and reporting. Additionally, the role involves building and mentoring a growing accounting team and collaborating with cross-functional leaders to maintain data integrity and reporting accuracy.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with a CPA certification. A minimum of 12 years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership, is required. Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and IFRS, experience with consolidations, and a proven track record of implementing process improvements and leveraging technology are essential. The candidate should be a hands-on leader comfortable with ambiguity and building processes from the ground up, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The anticipated base salary for this position ranges from $190,000 to $220,000 annually. The total compensation package may also include healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, disability coverage, life insurance, a stock option plan, and bonus plans.
