Staff Software Engineer, Network Expansion

The Staff Software Engineer on the Network Expansion team will be instrumental in developing new functionalities to support the company's growth into additional mobility sectors and more complex parking markets. This role involves providing technical direction, leading large cross-team initiatives from conception to launch, and managing multiple engineering teams toward unified objectives. Collaboration with designers and product managers is essential to model and solve real-world challenges effectively.
Key responsibilities include formulating and implementing a technical vision and roadmap that influences the entire company, leading multiple engineering teams (10-15 engineers) toward common goals, and ensuring the platform's continuous evolution and improvement. The engineer will also moderate technical discussions, evaluate new techniques, and leverage best practices in automation testing and deployment to enable rapid iteration and feature launches. Additionally, fostering a culture where production issues are viewed as opportunities for platform enhancement is crucial.
Candidates should possess a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience, with strong fundamental computer science skills. A minimum of 10 years of experience in building customer-centric applications and products is required, along with a proven track record in designing and delivering distributed systems in consumer-facing applications. Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, Agile engineering processes, and database technologies like MySQL and Postgres is essential. Excellent communication skills and a history of successful cross-functional collaboration are also important. The position requires on-site work in one of the company's offices located in Santa Monica (Los Angeles), New York City, or Seattle.
The anticipated base salary for this position ranges from $220,000 to $250,000 annually. The actual base pay offered is determined by various factors, including the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education, certifications, and the location of residence and/or place of employment.
