Drone Engineer – Drone Scanning & Digital Mapping (BIM/GIS) - Vlaanderen
As a Drone Engineer at BESIX, you will be at the forefront of integrating advanced drone technologies into construction projects across Flanders. This role places you within the Engineering and Methods department, bridging on-site operations with digital innovations to enhance project efficiency and accuracy.
Your primary responsibilities will include conducting drone flights, 3D scans, and digital surveys using technologies such as LiDAR and photogrammetry. You will process point clouds and integrate photogrammetric data into BIM and GIS platforms, creating digital models, maps, and analyses to support project teams. Additionally, you will advise on digital workflows, train and support site and BIM teams in digital mapping, and maintain drones, sensors, and software while staying updated on emerging technologies.
The ideal candidate holds a degree in Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field such as surveying or electromechanics. Experience with drone scanning, LiDAR, photogrammetry, SLAM, and BIM/GIS platforms is highly valued. Possession of drone certifications (A1-A3, A2, Specific STS) is required, with SORA or STS-02 being advantageous. Proficiency in Dutch is essential for effective communication on-site, with a good command of English necessary for software and documentation purposes.
