LG Electronics is seeking an exceptional Embodied AI Researcher to join its Emerging Technology Lab (ETL), a catalyst for technological innovation within LG’s CTO organization. Located in Silicon Valley and New Jersey, ETL pioneers select emerging technology areas, driving excellence across CTO organizations and business units. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop generalist robot intelligence and deploy it at scale in next-generation LG home robot platforms, contributing to LG's vision of the Zero-labor Home.

The Embodied AI Researcher will conduct fundamental and applied research to advance the state of the art in Embodied AI, with support to publish at top-tier conferences and contribute to the broader scientific community. Responsibilities include developing next-generation Robot Foundation Models to enhance robot capabilities such as 3D spatial reasoning, dexterous manipulation, zero-shot task generalization, long-horizon planning, and safe human-robot interaction. The role also involves training multimodal models that integrate vision, language, tactile sensing, and proprioception to achieve robust real-world performance, as well as architecting scalable data pipelines that combine high-fidelity simulation, generative AI, and real-world data collection for large-scale model training.

Candidates should possess a PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Machine Learning, or a related technical field with a strong publication record, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of equivalent research or industry experience demonstrating comparable impact. Deep research and engineering expertise in areas such as Robot Foundation Models, World Model training for robot action prediction, Spatial Intelligence, Multimodal representation learning across vision, language, and tactile, and Learning from human demonstrations and self-play are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to independently drive technically ambitious research projects in dynamic environments, are also required.

This position offers the opportunity to operate at the intersection of frontier AI research and large-scale consumer deployment, where breakthroughs transition rapidly from papers to products. Strong support for research ownership and collaboration is provided, including opportunities to work and publish with leading universities and AI labs. Additionally, the role involves engaging with startups and industry collaborators to co-design hardware–software systems and validate them in real-world applications.
