Employment Counsel

The Knot Worldwide is seeking a Senior Employment Counsel to join its dynamic Legal Team. This role is based in Austin, Texas, and reports directly to the Global Employment Counsel. The Senior Employment Counsel will serve as the primary advisor on U.S. employment matters, providing legal guidance to the People team and managing employment-related issues for a workforce of over 1,700 employees worldwide.

In this position, the Senior Employment Counsel will handle a broad spectrum of employment law matters, including HR practices, performance management, terminations, recruiting, hiring, background checks, compensation and benefits, leaves and accommodations, wage and hour issues, and agreements related to consultants and contractors. The role also involves providing legal counseling on U.S. federal and state laws concerning discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Additionally, the Senior Employment Counsel will manage U.S. employment litigation and agency matters, such as those involving the EEOC, DOL, state agencies, and arbitration, coordinating with outside counsel as necessary.

Candidates should possess over nine years of experience as a labor and employment attorney, with a strong background in U.S. employment law. Experience in managing employment litigation and agency matters is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in advising on a wide range of employment issues and will be adept at developing and implementing employment policies and training programs.
