Energy Market Analyst (Data)

Energy Exemplar is seeking an Energy Market Analyst to join our team in Pune or Bengaluru, India. As a leader in energy simulation software, we empower our customers to make informed decisions during critical times. This role involves developing simulation-ready datasets and contributing to our mission of driving transformative energy decisions.

The Energy Market Analyst will report to the Global Director of Data and Market Analysis. Key responsibilities include supervising the development and maintenance of global power and natural gas market models using PLEXOS and Aurora tools. The analyst will lead market research, model updates, result analysis, and model benchmarking. Daily tasks involve collaborating with a team of energy data analysts to deliver standalone datasets, analyzing power markets, processing data for input into power market models, troubleshooting market models, and benchmarking production cost models.

Candidates should have 2 to 4 years of experience in energy modeling and power market analysis. A bachelor's degree in Economics, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics is required, with a preference for a master's degree or Ph.D. Proficiency in energy economic modeling tools such as PLEXOS, Aurora, or PROMOD is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with experience in creating and analyzing energy datasets for power models, are necessary. Familiarity with transmission planning, nodal market modeling, and expertise in Excel and Power BI are also required.
