Engineering Manager, Commercial Systems
Canonical is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the development of internal products within its Commercial Systems unit. This role involves managing a team of software engineers and collaborating closely with other engineering and business teams to support Canonical's growth. The position is fully remote, based in the EMEA region, and offers an opportunity to work on innovative open-source solutions.
Key responsibilities include designing and developing internal products, leading a team of software engineers, and enhancing the skills and capabilities of direct reports. The role also involves seeking improvements to existing processes and solutions, and building an understanding of business needs to deliver impactful results.
The ideal candidate will have an exceptional academic track record, an undergraduate degree in a technical subject, and a history of exceeding expectations to achieve outstanding results. Experience with software development in high-level languages such as Golang, Python, or Java is required. Professional proficiency in written and spoken English, excellent presentation skills, and a result-oriented mindset are essential. The ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events is also necessary.
