Engineering Manager - Python and K8s
Canonical is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on productizing business workloads for real-time automated operations on Kubernetes. This role involves transforming the internal Information Systems (IS) team into an extension of Canonical's product engineering capability, enhancing the availability and performance of Ubuntu and related services globally.
Key responsibilities include building and managing a regional team of engineers, developing team members through coaching and mentoring, and directly contributing to the team's goals. The manager will set reasonable schedules, manage expectations with stakeholders, advance agile software development practices, and maintain a culture of quality and engineering excellence.
The ideal candidate has experience in Docker and Kubernetes operations, a strong software engineering background with proven Python expertise, and experience developing Python frameworks with stable APIs. A passion for embracing new technologies, improving software and infrastructure operations, and developing and growing team members is essential. Experience working in an agile development environment is also required.
