Engineering Manager, Royalty Accounting Team
Sony Music Entertainment is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Royalty Accounting Team within the Product Design Engineering and Global Operations (PDEGO) division at our London office. This role involves managing a team of full-stack engineers dedicated to developing and enhancing royalty accounting applications, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of artist royalties in alignment with our commitment to supporting a diverse roster of international superstars and visionary creators.
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for cultivating a high-performance agile development team, balancing the execution of new features with the maintenance of existing system health. Key duties include conducting regular one-on-one meetings, mentoring engineers, collaborating with contractors, and working closely with product managers to develop solutions that align with business strategies. Additionally, the role involves driving the engineering vision in partnership with directors and integrating new technologies into our stack when appropriate.
Candidates should have experience working in an agile environment, possess strong organizational and analytical skills, and demonstrate the ability to drive complex projects. A keen interest in music and the intricacies of the music business is essential. The role requires at least 2 years in an engineering management position, over 5 years of experience building and maintaining complex software products, and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PHP, or JavaScript. Experience with React/frontend TypeScript is considered a plus.
