Wayve, a leading developer of Embodied AI technology, is seeking an Engineering Technician to join their Hardware & Supply Chain team in London, United Kingdom. Founded in 2017, Wayve specializes in advanced AI software and foundation models that enable vehicles to perceive, understand, and navigate complex environments, enhancing the safety and usability of automated driving systems. The Engineering Technician will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and maintenance of autonomous vehicle hardware systems.

In this role, the Engineering Technician will be responsible for building, testing, and maintaining vehicles and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups equipped with high-performance compute and sensor systems. Key duties include diagnosing, repairing, and reworking hardware system failures on compute systems, embedded modules, wiring harnesses, sensors, and other hardware components. The technician will collaborate closely with hardware and software engineering teams to execute one-off tests of hardware configurations and assist in troubleshooting issues. Additionally, maintaining and managing workshop equipment, tools, and inventory, supporting prototype assembly and modifications, and documenting workshop procedures, test results, and system configurations are essential aspects of the role.

Candidates should possess a strong tenacity to complete tasks efficiently and effectively, with a deep understanding of the implications of their decisions. Experience in building complex systems within a fast-paced production environment is essential, along with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks dynamically. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities are crucial, as is the capacity to work collaboratively with engineering teams and provide technical support when needed. A passion for learning and improving technical expertise in the autonomy field is highly valued.

This is a full-time role based in Wayve's London office.
