Environmental Manager Belgium
The Environmental Manager will oversee and enhance the environmental management system within the Belgium-Luxembourg Business Unit of BESIX Group, a leading multidisciplinary Belgian company specializing in construction, real estate development, and concessions. This role involves strategic leadership and operational support to ensure compliance with environmental standards and alignment with BESIX's sustainability objectives.
Key responsibilities include managing the environmental management system at both project and business unit levels, leading a team of two Regional Environmental Coordinators, and ensuring all activities comply with client requirements, legal obligations, and internal environmental standards. The role also involves implementing ISO 14001 and CO₂ Performance Ladder management systems, setting and monitoring reduction targets, managing data collection and analysis, and coordinating innovation and sector initiatives.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Sciences or a related field, certification as an Environmental Coordinator Level A, and a minimum of 10–15 years of experience in a similar role within a complex, multi-project environment. Advanced knowledge of the CO₂ Performance Ladder is advantageous. Fluency in English and Dutch is required, with proficiency in French considered a strong plus.
