Export Controls Compliance Specialist

The Export Controls Compliance Specialist will join Axiom's Global Trade Compliance team, providing expert legal and regulatory support to a leading global technology client. This role focuses on ensuring adherence to export control laws and mitigating regulatory risks, offering a unique opportunity to work on complex matters at the intersection of technology, geopolitics, and international trade.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining export controls compliance policies and procedures, offering guidance on U.S. export control laws such as the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address evolving export controls and sanctions requirements. The specialist will also support global export compliance initiatives, conduct risk assessments, advise on export classification and due diligence, and monitor geopolitical developments to assess their impact on business operations.

Candidates should have over five years of experience in export controls, international trade compliance, or related fields, with a strong understanding of U.S. export control laws, including the EAR. A proven track record in advising on export compliance, risk mitigation, and regulatory strategy is essential, along with excellent analytical and communication skills. The ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment is also required.
