Export Controls Compliance Specialist

The Export Controls Compliance Specialist will join Axiom's Global Trade Compliance team, providing expert legal and regulatory support to a leading global technology client. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with export control laws and mitigating regulatory risks, offering a unique opportunity to work on complex, high-impact matters at the intersection of technology, geopolitics, and international trade.

Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and maintaining export controls compliance policies and procedures. The specialist will provide legal guidance on U.S. export control laws, such as the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to address evolving export controls and sanctions requirements. Additional duties involve supporting global export compliance initiatives, conducting risk assessments, advising on export classification, and monitoring geopolitical developments to assess business impacts.

Candidates should have over five years of experience in export controls, international trade compliance, or related fields, with strong knowledge of U.S. export control laws, including the EAR. A proven track record in advising on export compliance, risk mitigation, and regulatory strategy is essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are also required.
