Field Engineer
Boingo Wireless is seeking a Field Engineer to support wireless networks at Fort Drum, NY. This role involves hands-on technical work, serving as the on-site field service technician, troubleshooter, and customer interface for large military bases with thousands of users.
Key responsibilities include installing commercial internet circuits such as fiber, cable, LTE modems, and fixed wireless systems. The Field Engineer will utilize various distribution methods, including Ethernet, xDSL, CMTS, Wi-Fi, and LTE. Proficiency in wireless design software like iBwave and Ekahau is essential. The role also involves responding to NOC-dispatched incidents, installing and configuring switches and access points, and performing complex network problem analyses.
Candidates must have knowledge of wireless technologies, including 802.11 b/g/n/ac/ax, and experience with Wi-Fi access point and wireless controller configurations, preferably with Ruckus and Cisco equipment. Proficiency in switch configurations, including VLANs and trunking, is required. The role requires the ability to pass a military base access background check, a valid driver's license, and the physical capability to work on building rooftops and carry equipment over 45 lbs. Participation in an on-call rotation for 24-hour support and regional travel up to 50% of the year is expected.

The starting salary range for this position is $77,350 to $96,900 per year, plus bonus potential.
