The Finance Operations Data Lead at Awin is responsible for developing scalable financial data processes that support accounting operations. This role bridges Accounting, Data Engineering, and Finance Systems, ensuring that operational data required for financial reporting is accurately sourced, transformed, and delivered. Additionally, the position involves enhancing accounting efficiency and financial process visibility through the development and adoption of reporting and business intelligence tools.

Key responsibilities include owning end-to-end financial data flows, designing scalable processes for financial bookings, and ensuring the accuracy and auditability of financial data inputs. The role also acts as the primary interface between Accounting, Data Engineering, and Finance Systems teams, translating accounting requirements into technical data specifications and managing the development of finance data pipelines. Furthermore, the position focuses on automating and streamlining accounting processes, reducing manual data manipulation, and improving the efficiency of month-end close processes. Developing operational financial reporting to support various accounting and finance processes is also a critical aspect of the role.

The ideal candidate should have over five years of experience in Finance, Data Analytics, or Finance Systems, with a solid understanding of accounting processes such as close cycles, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and working capital. Proficiency in SQL and data analysis, experience with business intelligence tools like Tableau or Power BI, and familiarity with ERP systems and financial data structures are essential. The candidate should also possess a strong process improvement mindset, the ability to structure complex financial data problems, and excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
