Finance Operations Data Lead (f/m/d)
The Finance Operations Data Lead will lead the development of scalable financial data processes that support accounting operations. This role acts as the Product Owner for finance data processes, defining requirements, prioritizing development, and ensuring accounting teams have the information needed to execute financial close and other processes effectively. The position sits between Accounting, Data Engineering, and Finance Systems, ensuring that operational data required for financial reporting is sourced, transformed, and delivered accurately and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include owning the end-to-end financial data flows supporting accounting processes, designing scalable processes to source and transform data required for financial bookings, and ensuring accuracy, traceability, and auditability of financial data inputs. The role also involves acting as the primary interface between Accounting, Data Engineering, and Finance Systems teams, translating accounting requirements into technical data specifications, and prioritizing and managing the development of finance data pipelines. Additionally, the Finance Operations Data Lead will identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting processes through improved data availability and structure, reduce manual data manipulation performed by accounting teams, and improve the efficiency and reliability of month-end close processes.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in Finance, Data Analytics, or Finance Systems, with experience working cross-functionally across finance and data teams. A solid understanding of accounting processes, including close cycle, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and working capital, is essential. The candidate should have the ability to translate accounting requirements into data specifications, an understanding of data pipelines and data modeling, strong SQL and data analysis capabilities, and experience working with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Experience managing cross-functional projects or acting as a product owner is also desirable.
