Frontend Engineer - International SG (Generative AI)
As a Frontend Engineer in Canva's International Supergroup, you'll join the Product Enablement team dedicated to expanding Canva's presence in new markets by developing systems that deliver localized experiences globally. This role focuses on integrating AI-powered features tailored for the Chinese market, ensuring a balance between product quality, technical scalability, and local relevance.
Your primary responsibilities will include building and maintaining reliable, scalable frontend features that support Canva’s generative AI experiences in China. You'll design and implement user-facing interfaces and components, integrating them with both global and local AI services and infrastructures. Collaboration with product managers, designers, and engineers will be essential to deliver high-quality AI-driven product capabilities. Additionally, you'll contribute to systems that adhere to privacy and security standards across various markets and support experimentation to enhance the quality and impact of AI features.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in computer science and frontend engineering principles, including component architecture, state management, and performance optimization. Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks such as React or Next.js is required. Experience with server-side rendering (SSR) frameworks, web performance optimization, and SEO best practices is also essential. A collaborative mindset and a growth-oriented attitude are crucial, along with experience in A/B testing and experiment-driven development. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, or AI model integrations is advantageous.
