General Counsel
Nansen is seeking a General Counsel to lead all legal matters across the Nansen group, including entities in Singapore, Bhutan, and future subsidiaries. This role is pivotal as the company scales its product features and AI-powered capabilities, requiring strategic legal guidance in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.
The General Counsel will be responsible for managing relationships with regulators, particularly in Bhutan, and monitoring regulatory developments in key jurisdictions such as Singapore, the UK, and the US. Key duties include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating material contracts, advising on corporate governance, supporting M&A activities, and overseeing compliance with data protection and privacy obligations. Additionally, the role involves providing legal sign-off on new product features and managing the company's corporate secretarial relationship and statutory filings.
The ideal candidate is a qualified lawyer with over eight years of post-qualification experience, possessing the right to work in Bhutan. Hands-on experience in crypto, fintech, or financial services regulatory matters is essential, along with demonstrated ability to engage directly with regulators. The candidate should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment, balancing risk with pragmatic business solutions, and have familiarity with AI agent products and autonomous systems.
